Henri Matisse is one of the most famous artists to originate from Nice and a museum showcasing his life’s works is a must-see while in the city.  The museum itself is spectacular, with balcony views overlooking the Mediterranean. While strolling down la Promenade des Anglais, you may want to cut off the path and visit Nice Port, which is often overlooked by those who visit.  This is a great place to watch the launching and return of boats, yachts and other water vessels and is located in close proximity to many of the coolest bars and nightclubs on the coast.  There’s perhaps no better place in the city to sit down, take in the sun and sea and enjoy some maritime fun.
